February 22nd we had Teag's first birthday party. We were blessed by the attendance of lots of family and friends. Teag was a trooper! Smiling all day long.

Here he is with his birthday crown... Prince Teagie!

We tried to get a picture of all the babies but couldn't manage to get all of them to look the same way at the same time. Oh well, they're still so cute. Below Braxton, Mattie, Teag, Mason and Chase.

At least they are all looking up!

What a cute bunch!

The Vann family! back row- Candy, Matt, Joel, Mema, Bubba, Tom
middle row- Kim, Cassie, Colleen
front row- Braxton, Mason, Mattie and Teag

Four generations of Vanns! Great-grandma Mema holding Teag, grandfather Tom, and father Tom (Bubba) holding Mattie.

While getting ready for cake, Teag got icing on his foot. I think he was trying to get to the cake before anyone else.

The happy family!

Aunt Cassie and Mason.

Blowing out the candle. Teag just smiled while everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

Teag decided to give Mommy the first bite. He wasn't quite sure about this cake thing at first.

Then he got a bite. Yum, yum, yum!

We could not even get him to stop eating cake for a picture.

Daddy and the birthday boy.

Both hands and a mouth full of cake.

You want me to share what?

Nonna and Amanda-- looking good!

Braxton and Uncle Matt enjoying the festivities.

Chase and Andrew were ready to party.

Teag with the great new onesie Aunt Kim made for him.

Mommy, Daddy and Mattie helping Teag open his gifts. Thanks everyone!

Mattie showing Teag how to use his new guitar from Bachi.

Teag was fascinated with Josh's braces.

Nonna and Teag were all smiles!

Teag getting a big hug from Bachi.

Aunt Judy came to visit with the birthday boy.

The church where Mattie and Teag have their music together class had this neat playground. Mattie and Mommy were having some fun before class started.

WOW-- Can you believe it has been a year already?! Teag had his 1 year check up on Tuesday. He weighs 18 lbs. 2 oz. and I forgot to ask his length. Silly me. I was holding him while she was measuring him but was probably distracted talking to Mattie. He is in the lower percentages for his size though. I think the doctor said 10% for weight and 5% for length. Still, the doctor said he was doing great! He is doing all the things they expect a 9 month old to do and actually many of the things expected of 1 year olds. His iron levels have gone up some so we just have to continue with the iron supplements and iron rich foods. Too bad he can't quite chew raw spinach leaves like his sister Mattie likes to do. Thanks for all the calls wishing him a happy birthday. Hope to see many of you on Sunday.

We went to Disney on Teag's birthday. My sister Kathryn and her boyfriend Craig were in town and Craig had not been to Disney in a very long time. It was very crowded but Teag did not seem to mind.

They had sidewalk chalk out for people waiting to get on the ferry boat. What else to write but...

After Craig and Mattie wrote their names, Mattie came to get a picture with her "brudder".

Kat, Craig and Mattie on the ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom.

Tried to get a family photo on the boat. Three out of four looking at the camera --not too bad.

The Vanns meet Stitch. Teag was not really sure what to make of this strange looking creature.

Teag really liked the People Mover though.

Mattie practicing her surfing.

Clint and Crystal came with us too. Thanks Clint for all the discounts.

Mom, Kat and Craig get ready to ride Pirates of the Caribbean.

"Let me out!"

Mattie and Aunt Kat.

Kat, Mattie and Craig stopped playing in line long enough for me to snap this cute pic.

Mattie started watching the parade on my shoulders but decided she could see more if she got on Craig's.

We bought Teag his Mickey ears and could not resist taking his picture by this sign that read "Celebrate Today".

The birthday boy!

My mom came over to watch the kids while Craig, Kat, Clint, Crystal, Bubba and I went out for dinner on Valentine's Day. Here we are just before leaving for the Mango Tree in Cocoa Beach.

Friday we went to the Brevard Zoo. They opened a new hands-on children's center.

Bubba caught a very rare Teag-fish.

Mattie tried her luck with the real fish but nothing was biting at the time.

Teag was ready to get on board and try some fishing of his own. He was having a good time crusing along this rope.

Mattie sees a crab...

... and then told us to let Teag see it.

There was a little sand area all about sea turtles where they had "costumes" to dress up and dig like a sea turtle. Mattie was a good mommy turtle burying her eggs with her flippers. (She is wearing a turlte shell on her back.)

A Teagie turtle!

Once he came out of his shell, Teag really enjoyed the sand.

Here is Mattie in the petting zoo portion. She got to pet a deer...

...an armadillo, a goat, a llama and an emu. Unfortunately we did not get a picture of it, but Teag was fascinated with the emu.

Teag was having lots of fun at the zoo.

Mom and kids enjoyed a day of fun.
