Sorry I did not get to write some more last night. Teag is teething and he woke up before I could finish. He is doing alright with the teething. He's chewing on everything and wanting to nurse more, but he's still smiling most of the day. He's up to about 18 lbs. now and into some of his 9 month clothing! He's almost mastered sitting, still wobbly at times. He's cooing and "talking" a lot as well as reaching, grabbing, pulling and shaking anything he can get his hands on.
Mattie has been practicing for her dance recital, which I think is in December. She is getting smarter everyday. She can spell her name and recognizes several letters. She'll point out the letters that make up her name in other words or show her two words and she'll point out which letters are the same in them. She is also getting pretty good at cutting with her safety scissors and has completed and entire book of mazes!

We got the kids in their Halloween clothing and went to a local church "pumpkin patch" to pick out a pumpkin or two. Here are some pictures of the event.
Mattie insisted that we put Teag in the pumpkin outfit.

Pumpkin photo shoot...

Aren't I the cutest pumpkin you've ever seen?

Where's Teag?

There he is!
Hanging out with the scarecrow.
Mattie brought her dump truck so she could pick out her pumpkin by herself which she did. She also pushed it all the way to the front of the "patch" to pay for it. She sure is determined and strong I might add. Oh, the little pumpkin in front she picked out for Teag.

"Look at this pumpkin! It's just the one I want."

The Vann family at the pumpkin patch.

Daddy and his boy. Aren't they some good looking guys?

Bubba sure is a wonderful father. We are a lucky bunch.

This was the best one we could get of the two of them. Of course, they are both looking in opposite directions, neither of which was toward the camera.
Here are some pictures at our local playground. Mattie has mastered this rock wall. She is pretty amazing.

Funny Mattie story...tonight at dinner Mattie and Bubba were telling funny jokes, well, Mattie was trying. Then out of nowhere Mattie says, "Daddy why did the elephant get to the light?(She doesn't quite use how and why correctly so what she meant was 'How did the elephant get to the light?' ) So Bubba says, I don't know baby. To which Mattie answers, "He used the giraffe!" Bubba and I just looked at each other. She had thought that up totally by herself. She's a clever one!
Teag becomes more fun every day. Here he is giggling. Is there anything better than baby laughter? I can't believe he is 8 months old already.

We had an Early Steps screening today for Teag. Early Steps is a program that provides comprehensive developmental services for children that have special needs that may include developmental delays or other medical conditions that challenge their development. A woman came to our home and spoke with us and asked us questions about Teag's progress. After all was said and done, she said Teag looked great and that we probably would not qualify for the program. I told her we would be very happy NOT qualifying. We are so blessed. God has sure strengthened, and continues to strengthen, our little boy.
Here are a few picture of him sitting in the front yard. Yes, sitting. He's almost got it.

Mattie was helping Bubba with the yard work wearing her Dora the Explorer gardening gloves.

Practicing sitting, oh, and playing the drum.

Hello Everyone!

We went on a nature walk yesterday with some friends. Mattie brought her magnifying glass so she could look for bugs.

Mattie and Daddy spot some birds in the distance.

The kids looked for fish and frogs.

The nature trail was very wet so we turned around and went to the zoo. Here is Mattie feeding a friend.

Teag's first time seeing a giraffe.

Teag just hung out and took in the sights.

Teag is loving his bumbo seat. He especially likes that he can join us at the dinner table. He can sit up by himself for very short moments before wobbling over. I think he'll get it soon! He also is starting to show an interest in foods. Once he gets this sitting thing mastered we'll try the foods. He should be ready to join the family for Thanksgiving dinner.

September 26th my friend Michelle and I took the kids to Kennedy Space Center. The Center was offering free admission for Brevard residents. Mattie enjoyed seeing the robots and rockets.

Matilda and Mattie met some soldiers too.
